Travel Essentials

Whether you have a weekend getaway coming up or a large international trip—check out Más Travelled's favorite travel essentials.

Packing Cubes

Packing cubes are a game changer in the packing game. They help keep your clothes organized, making it easy to find what item you're looking for. We recommend these BAGAIL packing cubes as a budget option.

For a nicer option we love these Eagle Creek packing cubes or these fun Cotopaxi packing cubes.

Stuff Sack

Stuff sacks are often used for hiking, but they're our favorite hack for storing dirty laundry on the road. These stuff sacks are extremely light-weight and pack down to nothing. Shove them in your pack and start stuffing your dirty clothes to get them separate from the rest of your luggage. They're also especially useful when it's time to hit the laundromat on the road.

Portable Charger

Portable chargers are a MUST while traveling. Whether you can't find an outlet in the airport, you're walking through a city, on a train with a busted outlet, or in the back seat of a car and your friend is using the phone charger—it's always nice to have easy access to charging your phone. Our favorite charger is this SOXONO charger, it has solar charging abilities and two USB ports. Most importantly, it can charge an iPhone 11 up to 7 times.

Want a smaller charger? A slim charger like this Charmast charger is a great option, it even comes with 6 built-in cord options

Travel Adapter

A travel adapter is an absolute must while traveling internationally. In our opinion, this universal travel adapter is the only one you need. It's a universal adapter, meaning it will fit the power outlet in any country. It has one main power socket, 4 USB portals, and 1 USB-C. Which means you can charge up to 6 devices at once!

Water Bottle

Unless you're traveling somewhere where the tap water isn't safe to drink, pack a reusable water bottle! You can save a lot of money (and help the environment) by packing a reusable water bottle and refilling it throughout your trip. Choosing a water bottle is up to personal preference but our favorite is a Nalgene water bottle as they're lightweight and inexpensive to replace in case you lose it!

Packable Backpack

This one is catered more towards the backpacker traveler, those who are going on an active trip, or those who simply don't like to carry a purse! Consolidating your luggage into 1-2 bags is essential for hopping around, but once you're in a location it can be nice to have a smaller bag for day trips. We love this packable backpack that packs down to fit in your carry-on but can expand into a small pack, perfect for a day's adventure.

Travel Backpack

Our favorite luggage for most trips is a travel backpack, though rolling suitcases do have a time and place! We've personally been using this 46L Osprey Travel Pack for the past 10 years to 30+ countries across 4 continents. It might be a tad pricy, but it stands the test of time (we're still using it to this day!)

Another very popular option is the 35L Cotopaxi Travel Pack. While we haven't tried this pack ourselves, we continue to see travelers across social media use and recommend this pack. Cotopaxi is a well-loved brand of Más Travelled and we can confirm that they make quality products that last.

Kindle or E-Reader

We're big readers here at Más Travelled and while we'll always prefer a paperback, you can't beat a Kindle while traveling! We love being able to download books on the go, how little space the Kindle takes up, and we especially love the backlit feature—making it easy to read on a dark plane or in a low-lit bar.

What else have we missed? Do you have any favorite travel essentials that we didn't include on this list?
