4 Reasons Why Shoulder Season is the Best Time to Visit Europe
Europe's seasons are as follows
High Season: Mid-June - August
Shoulder Season: April - Mid-June and September-October
Low Season: November - March
While Europe is a joy to visit any time of year, however the shoulder season may be the best time to visit. Here are four main reasons on why you should consider traveling to Europe in the shoulder season on your next vacation.
Cheaper Prices
For many people, this may be the biggest lure of the shoulder season in Europe. With the smaller crowds, many accommodations and attractions are competing for what tourists are left and offer a discounted price. This is especially seen in beach towns, such as the Greek Islands, but is common across Europe as well.
Smaller Crowds
Smaller crowds is a plus in so many situations. The summers bring masses to Europe and the shoulder season can really lighten the crowd. This can mean a little more elbow room while sitting on the Spanish Steps in Rome or having a shorter wait in line for the Lourve.
Mild Weather
If you have ever been to Europe in the Summer, then you know it can get hot! The shoulder season in Europe brings GREAT weather. In the Southern countries, it can be warm enough to swim and in the Northern countries it's not quite cold enough where you really need to bundle up.
More Availability
Things can book up fast in Europe during the high season. Have it be hotels or tours, sometimes booking what you want can turn into a struggle as available dates start to become limited. Traveling to Europe in the shoulder season gives you a lot more flexibility on booking dates, as there are less tourists and more openings.
